CodeAcross 2014 is a weekend of events taking place in cities around the world. There will be events hosted simultaneously in dozens of cities all around the globe on the weekend of February 21-23, 2014. Coinciding with International Open Data Day, the goal of CodeAcross is to activate the Code for America network and inspire residents everywhere to get actively involved in their community.
CodeAcross events will be hosted by members of the CfA network: Fellows, government partners, and volunteers. This is the third annual CodeAcross event (formerly Code Across America).
This year, we’re offering a theme for CodeAcross: Beyond Transparency. Let’s take the open government movement one step further, by focusing on not only making data open, but actionable. Join us to push the ball forward in your community. Read more “CodeAcross 2014”

Microsoft has updated SkyDrive app to become OneDrive app. If you do not have SkyDrive or OneDrive installed, it is real simple to get going. If you have it installed, it is still pretty simple.
Head on over to OneDrive.com and download the app.
OneDrive is available for Windows 8/8.1, Windows 7 or Windows Vista. It is also available for Mac OS X.
Have a Tablet? No problem. OneDrive is available for it as well.
OneDrive is even available for your mobile phone.
Installation is straightforward and if you activate photo synching, you get some extra storage. Also, refer friends, get more space as well!
If you are installing on a Windows 7 or Windows Vista computer, running the setup from the links above will upgrade you to OneDrive.
On Mac OS X, head on over to the App Store and run the upgrade from there.
Tablets – head to your marketplace or store and perform the updates.
Phone – head to the marketplace or store and perform the update as well.
The update brings a new thumbnail view, improved view of shared files, the ability to share multiple items at once, the ability to pin folders to your Start screen, open your OneDrive files in other apps, and bug fixes and performance improvements. A worthwhile update!
